ISPAB Election 2009
The Second Election of Internet Service Providers Association Bangladesh (ISPAB) was scheduled to hold on March 17, 2009. However, there being only seven nominations submitted to the Election Commission, the following members were elected uncontested:
1. Akhteruzzaman Manju of Aftab IT & ISN Ltd., President
2. Zia Shamsi of Agni, Vice President
3. Khondker A Azad of ConnectBD, Treasurer
4. M A Hakim Progoti of Dhakacom, Secretary General
5. Rashed Amin Biddut of Link3, Joint Secretary General
6. Rubayet Ahmed of Proshika, Member EC
7. Syed Samiul Wadood of BOL, Member EC
The Newly elected Committee took office on the 1st April 2009.
ISPAB Election 2006
The First Election of Internet Service Provider Association was held on the 17th December 2006 at the office of Bangladesh Computer Samity [Association], Dhaka. Total 14 candidates under two groups were contested for 7 executive committee members of ISP Association 2007-08. Out of 56 Association members 54 members cast their votes.
The reform panel under the leadership of Md. Abdus Salam got the majority seats. The newly 7 elected members of Executive Committee of ISP Association are:
1. Azhar H Chowdhury of Grameen CyberNet Ltd [Vote received 37]
2. Russel T. Ahmed of Global Online Services Ltd [Vote received 35]
3. Sumon Ahmed Sabir of BDCOM On Line Ltd [Vote received 35]
4. Md. Abdus Salam of Agni Systems Limited [Vote received 34]
5. S. M. Iqbal of Information Services Network Ltd [Vote received 29]
6. Khandokar A. Al Azad of Connect BD Ltd. [Vote received 28]
7. M. A. Hakim of Dhaka Com Ltd [Vote received 28]
